Glasgowagians paint the town Hot Red at the Red Carpet Christmas Dinner 2014
Red Carpet Christmas Dinner.
Red carpet Christmas Dinner aims to create a platform for us all to celebrate the Christmas together while promoting community integration, and supporting the less privileged among us irrespective of race, ethnicity, colour, background, social status etc.
One may rightly ask, Why the name Red Carpet?
Over the centuries, the red carpet has come to symbolize luxury and hospitality and has also become synonymous with star and celebrity treatment.
There is no gain saying that we all work so hard all through the year from January to December, having little or no time for relaxation. There is an Igbo Language adage where the Lizard says he will praise himself when he climbs the tree and falls even if no one else praises him.
We chose the name Red Carpet Christmas Dinner, because we are all very important persons who deserve and worth being celebrated.
Christmas is a time of joy, merriment giving and sharing while we celebrate and remember the birth of Jesus Christ. But for many people, Christmas is not that joyous. They don't have the extra money to buy presents for their children, family, and friends and Christmas dinners may be only a wish and
not a reality for some. Red Carpet Christmas Dinner wants to reach out to some of these people in
our community, by allowing everyone who has, to share with those who are in need. The event will raise gifts, food and donations for some of the less privileged in our community. This year, we are donating to Destiny Angels a charity which provides practical help for those in crisis.
We also call on you to support this charity.
It was an amazing night of Glam, but don't just take my words for it, watch the pictures!
My personal highlight of the night was the birthday surprise we had for Amarachi Anyiam, arranged by her husband. Awesome!
Amarachi on her feedback said she felt like a little birthday girl as she was treated as a princess with a surprise birthday on the red carpet Christmas dinner.
It was a delightful night, get ready for 2015 event.
